My deepest sympathies to Slim's family, band & friends. I am sharing in your grief today. Thankful that I have many CDs of Slim's music to help fill the void I feel inside. So thankful that Slim & his music came in to my life back in 1991. Love & Light to all. Rest easy Slim.

I heard this bad news on radio Classic 21. Dr. Boogie started his weekly broadcast with two songs of Magic Slim. Heartbreaking but also heartwarming. Listeninig at this unmatched Chicago sound. Morris Holt rest in peace. Your music will never die!

This is so sad.
Mr. Holt was truly one of the blues greats.
Of all the blues musicians I've seen over the years, Magic Slim was the one I saw the most. The first time was at the old Checkerboard Lounge on Chicago's south side and the last time was a few years back on a river cruise on the Ottawa River (Canada).
I'm listening to Bad Boy right now and the memories are flooding back.

So sad to hear this news. Although I never had the good fortune to see Magic on his rare visits to the UK he was without doubt one of my favourite blues musicians and the man and his music always brought me joy.
Condolences to all family and friends.
RIP ... and thanks for the great music over the years!

Extremely sorry to hear this news. I feel fortunate that I was able to see Magic Slim in concert three times in the past decade, and to meet him once. My best to his family. He was a legend.

He will be truly missed! He was one of the first "Blues" artists I saw a number of years ago that turned me onto the 'Blues". I then saw him a year later here in Cleveland and his music just made your heart dance.... Heaven must be rockin!
